Forum Rules & Terms of Use
Version 2026-08-13
These terms cover the Alderun forum only. They are separate from the terms for the game, because posting in public and playing a game are different things to agree to. Accepting these does not change the game's terms, and accepting the game's terms did not cover this.
The forum is run by Innova Inc., trading as SquirrelFM — the company you are agreeing with here, and the one “we”, “us” and “our” refer to below. The game's terms, including its rules on conduct, cheating and liability, apply to your Alderun account alongside these.
The short version. Be civil, post in the right board, do not spam, do not post other people's private information, and remember that everything you write here is public and can be read by anyone in the world. We can remove any post and suspend any account, at our discretion, and the forum is provided as it is, free, with no promises attached.
Who can post
You need an Alderun account with a registered email address, and you must be at least 13 years old. Guest accounts have no email address and cannot sign in here. We ask your age the first time you sign in to the forum.
You post under your account's display name, such as Bob#4271. It is the same name you wear in game, and it is unique, so nobody can post as you.
The rules
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Be civil | Disagree with the argument, not the person. No harassment, threats, or abuse directed at anyone — including us. |
| No hate | Nothing attacking people for who they are: race, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability or age. |
| Keep it safe for work | No sexual content, no graphic violence, no shock material. |
| No spam or advertising | No promotion, referral links, link farming or repeated posting of the same thing. |
| Nobody's private information | Not other people's, and think twice about your own. Do not post real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or screenshots that contain them. |
| No cheating or exploits | Do not distribute cheats, hacks, modified clients or step-by-step exploit instructions. Reporting a bug or exploit to us in Bug Reports is welcome and is the opposite of this rule. |
| Post it in the right board | Questions in Q&A, faults in Bug Reports, everything else in Game Discussion. News is written by us; anyone may reply to it. |
| Only post what is yours to post | Do not post someone else's writing, art or code as if it were yours, or anything you do not have the right to share. |
Moderation
We appoint moderators from among the players. A moderator can remove posts, lock or pin topics, and suspend an account from posting. Moderators cannot act on each other, and cannot edit anybody's words — removal is the tool, not rewriting, so nothing can be put in your mouth under your name.
Every post carries a Report link. Use it rather than replying to an argument you want stopped. Reports go to moderators only, and the person you reported is not told who reported them.
A removed post leaves a marker showing that something was removed, and by whom. A suspended account can still read the forum but cannot post, reply or report. Serious or repeated breaches can also cost you your Alderun account under the game's terms.
Access to the forum is a privilege we grant and may withdraw. We may remove, edit the visibility of, lock, hide or refuse any post, topic, display name or report, and we may limit, suspend or permanently terminate your access to the forum, at our sole discretion, at any time, with or without notice, and with or without giving a reason — including where conduct falls short of a specific rule above but we consider it harmful to the forum or to the people using it, and including conduct elsewhere, such as in the game. We are not obliged to publish, keep, restore or explain anything, and no post, topic or account carries any entitlement to remain.
We do not pre-screen posts and we are under no obligation to monitor the forum. If we do monitor, remove or act on something, that does not oblige us to do so again or to act on anything else, and it does not make us responsible for what we leave up. We may disclose posts, account details and related records where we reasonably believe it necessary to comply with the law, respond to lawful process, enforce these terms, or protect anyone's safety or rights.
Do not evade a suspension. If we suspend or terminate your access, you may not return using another account, someone else's account, or a different device or connection. Doing so is itself a breach of these terms and of the game's terms, and any account used to evade may be terminated too. You may not sell, transfer, lend or share your forum access, and it has no monetary value.
Your posts
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt for display, translate and archive what you post, as part of running and promoting the forum and the game, and to quote it in patch notes or documentation with your display name attached. The licence lasts as long as the post is on the forum and, for material we have already backed up, quoted or distributed, it survives the post's deletion. We owe you no payment for it.
You confirm that everything you post is yours to post, that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law, and that you are responsible for it. Your posts are yours, not ours — we do not adopt or endorse them, and we are not responsible for them.
Posts are public. They can be read without signing in, and search engines can index them. Treat anything you post as permanent: you can delete your own posts, but we cannot pull back what somebody already copied, quoted or archived.
If you tell us about a bug, an idea or a design suggestion here, we may use it in the game without owing you anything for it, and you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free licence to use it for any purpose without restriction. We may credit you; we are not obliged to, and we owe you no confidentiality. We may already be working on the same thing.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something posted here infringes your copyright or another right you hold, write to us using our contact page, identifying the material, where it appears, and the right you hold. We remove material we consider infringing, and we may terminate the access of anyone who infringes repeatedly. Do not send a complaint about material you have the right to post — a knowingly false complaint can make you liable for the costs it causes.
What we do not promise
The forum is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty or condition of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy or uninterrupted availability. We do not promise the forum will be available, secure, free of error or free of harmful code, that anything posted on it is accurate, lawful or safe to act on — including advice from other players — or that anything you post will be preserved. We may change, move, restrict or shut down the forum, and delete any or all of its content, at any time and without notice or compensation.
We are not responsible for what other people post, for anything you do in reliance on it, or for any dealing between you and another player. Any such dealing is at your own risk.
Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable to you for anything arising out of the forum, and in particular not for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary loss, nor for lost profits, lost data, lost posts, lost goodwill, reputational harm or business interruption, however caused and on any theory of liability. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of the forum, taken together, is limited to USD 50.
The forum is provided free of charge, and this allocation of risk is a condition of our providing it at all. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep every right the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you, and nothing here takes it away.
Your responsibility to us
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Innova Inc., its officers, employees, contractors and moderators against any claim, demand, proceeding, loss, liability, damages, fine, cost and expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with what you post, your use of the forum, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of anyone else's rights. This does not apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own breach or negligence, or to the extent the law where you live does not permit it as against a consumer.
Moderators are volunteers, not our employees or agents. They act on their own judgement, we do not guarantee their decisions, and you agree not to bring a claim against a moderator personally for an act carried out in that role.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington are the agreed place for disputes. If you are a consumer outside the United States, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may still bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
Except where the law where you live gives you longer, any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the forum must be brought within one year of the date it arose, or it is permanently barred.
Changes to these terms
If these rules change materially, you will be asked to accept them again the next time you sign in, and this page will carry a new version date. Continuing to use the forum after a change means you accept it.
General
If part of this fails, the rest stands. Any provision held invalid or unenforceable is to be read down to the least extent needed to make it valid, or severed if that is not possible, and every other provision remains in force. Whole agreement: these terms and the forum privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us for the forum. No waiver: not enforcing a provision, or delaying, waives nothing. Transfer: we may assign these terms to another company; you may not. Outside our control: we are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something beyond our reasonable control. No third-party rights, except that the people named under “Your responsibility to us” may rely on that section. Survival: the sections on your posts, copyright complaints, what we do not promise, our liability, your responsibility to us, and which law applies, survive the end of your access, however it ends.
